Authentic Vietnamese Street Food in the Heart of Bangkok's Coolest Neighbourhood
If you've been exploring Song Wat Road, you already know the street has a way of surprising you at every turn. But among all its gems, Song Viet at Song Wat — a new addition from the Maison Saigon family — hits differently. Step inside and you're no longer in Bangkok; you're somewhere between a sidewalk café in Ho Chi Minh City and a lovingly curated dining experience that's impossible not to fall for.
Location & Atmosphere
Song Wat Road was named one of the 40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world by Time Out Magazine in 2023 Sawasdee, and Song Viet is one of the reasons why. The restaurant transports diners with its vibrant atmosphere and low wooden tables, reminiscent of Ho Chi Minh City's street-side eateries. Raw walls, neon lights, and a perfectly curated soundtrack make everything feel just right. It's casual, energetic, and completely immersive.
The Philosophy
What makes Song Viet special goes beyond the food. One of the restaurant's partners shared that most Thai diners still only know a handful of Vietnamese dishes and tend to order the same familiar items. So instead of a large static menu, the kitchen rotates dishes regularly — gently nudging guests to open up and try something new. Every visit genuinely feels different.
