History & Foundation

The name "Ruamrudee" is a Thai word meaning "union of hearts," which perfectly captures the school's philosophy of welcoming all children into an environment of care and compassion. Founded in 1957 by the Redemptorist Fathers of Thailand, what began as four modest wooden classrooms behind Holy Redeemer Church has grown into one of Thailand's most distinguished international institutions, now serving over 1,400 students from across the globe.

Campus & World-Class Facilities

The Minburi campus occupies a vast 29-acre site, with separate buildings for each school section, a competition-sized swimming pool, and modern sports and arts facilities that are hard to match in high-rise city-center schools. Eltschool Facilities include a 100x50 metre FIFA-certified artificial turf football pitch, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, multiple gymnasiums, two libraries, a performing arts centre, mini-theatres, an art gallery, and fully equipped science and computer labs.

Today, RIS operates across four campuses: the flagship Minburi Campus, the Ratchapruek Campus (Nonthaburi, opened 2019), Early Years Campus (Ramintra area), and the newly opened RIS Phuket (2024).

Curriculum & Academic Excellence

RIS masterfully balances a cutting-edge hybrid curriculum combining American, IB, and AP programs, giving students remarkable flexibility in shaping their academic journey. It is one of the very few international schools in Southeast Asia to offer both the IB and AP programs simultaneously.

The results speak for themselves: the IB Class of 2025 achieved a 97% pass rate with an average score of 34 points — well above the world average of approximately 30 — with the highest individual score reaching a perfect 45.

RIS graduates are regularly admitted to the world's most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and University College London.

Beyond the Classroom

RIS is a member of the Bangkok International School Athletic Conference (BISAC) and fields 70 teams across both domestic and international athletic competitions, covering sports such as badminton, basketball, swimming, football, cross country, and cheerleading.
